Family Trees

At last - our family trees are finished. It took quite a bit of organising for the children - having to find out who their grandparents and great-grandparents are/were. Then trying to work out who belonged to who on the family tree. I hope we got it right and haven't got the 'wrong' great-grandparent on the 'wrong' side of the tree!

After drawing a tree, and dabbing 3 or 4 shades of green onto it with a sponge, the tree had to be outlined with dark green. Then it was ready to glue on the carefully written name tags, and decorate with stars and hearts.

Term 2, Week 9 - Visit to Chillingworth Road

Room were very lucky to be invited to Chillingworth Road - a restaurant owned my Maddox's parents.
It was a great way to finish off our healthy eating unit. Thanks to Leanne for organising it, and making the vegetable juices for us to try. Talk about tricky trying to figure out what vegetables were in them. There were some very surprised children, and adults! Thank you also to Darren for demonstrating safety in the kitchen, as well as making the fantastic mushroom soup. We were most impressed with your knife set and watching your chopping techniques. A bit thanks to the parents, and grandma, who provided transport...without you we couldn't have gone.
