CHANGE OF DAY FOR CROSS COUNTRY

Hi there,
In case any of you missed the news just out, the school has decided to have the cross country on WEDNESDAY, not tomorrow. The weather forecast is pretty cold for tomorrow but looks warmer on Wednesday. Hope some of you can still make it and watch our athletes!

Homework this week

Kia ora,

I am having trouble with Google Docs so thought I'd write a quick note here for you.
Yesterday I was away on a course about teaching Writing to children with some of the staff. It was very informative and we came back with many ideas...I can't wait to use some of them very soon.

You will notice that homework didn't get done on Monday - but the children were sent home the essential word list today. They are to identify the words they need to learn and work on them in the next few week before our mid year test. I have suggested fun ways to learn the words. Could a parent/caregiver sign the the form on Friday for me to check. I am trusting the children will read every night. Clever Readers are also going to research where there has been a drought in New Zealand.
For Maths ask you child to show you what 7 lots/groups/sets of 4 looks like. Many children know some or all of their times tables but don't know what it means, or looks like.

Enjoy the rest of the week. Let's hope Canterbuy's Weather Updates for thunder tomorrow, and heavy rain and snow to low levels later in the week, is incorrect!

E noho rā,
Emma
