Guess, and make up, a story!
Today we ended up doing HEAPS of writing. Ms Betts gave us a photo and some questions to think about. We had to make up a story to go with this picture...

Team Building with Zac and Amy
Today we had Canterbury Sports, and Zac and Amy organised some fun games to help us learn skills to work as a team. Some of us listened to and encouraged each other, and some of are working hard on those skills. The Year 3's from Room 2 joined us for the fun!
In this group activity we helped each other by filling up the container and putting it on the stick for the person who was going to carry it. Maddox in particular was very good at encouraging his team members by telling them how good they were and to keep going.

This activity was a real challange because if you didn't work as a team to cover up the 8 holes the pipe would never fill up.

Spelling Activity
Today we tried out a new spelling activity. We had to write all of our spelling words down on grid paper, one letter per square, and then cut them out. After that we mixed up the letters and remade our spelling words.
"I found it fun because you actually had to find all the letters to make the words" Lily E
"I found it quite tricky because it was good for the spelling technique" Ethan
"I found it quite challenging because it wasn't hard too hard and it wasn't too easy. You had to find the right words because there were only just enough letters so you had to spell them right" Zoe
"I found it really hard finding the right letters when I cut them up and mixed them up." Brooke
"It will be useful at home to learn your spelling words and play it each day" Charlotte

Our Class Culture - what is important to us

Lots of space in our room!
As you can see there have been a few changes in Room 3 this year - no chunky desks, and no more desk inspections! It is great to be able to move the tables around to suit the learning activity. What works for handwriting, like in the photos below, may not work for smaller group work or art activities. Everyday our classroom looks a little bit different!

Welcome to Room 3's Blog.
It is still under construction this early in the year but it will be great if you all join up so you add your comments to our posts. Have a look around the Blog and get to know the different pages. The newsletter for the following week will always be up by Sunday night. Make sure you click the actual link, not the picture.
